意义的多模态构建——对一次PPT演示竞赛的语篇分析How Is Meaning Construed Multimodally——A case study of a PowerPoint presentation contest

摘要(Abstract):
系统功能语言学的基本原则是从层次、功能、语境、语篇、语域、选择等视角研究语言,但是“无论怎样,我们对语义的研究还只是特定的和片面的”(Halliday,1994:xx)。这意味着语义学不能穷尽来自各种源头的意义,我们有必要开展介入性语篇分析,特别是与多模态化相结合的计算机介入的语篇分析。本文利用2005年中国人民大学在澳大利亚文化节上的一次PPT演示竞赛,分析了23个参赛作品,认为今天PPT演示已是一种重要的信息传递工具,成为一种新的语类。我们的分析表明:自然语言仍是表达,意义的主要模态,PPT演示的力量在于图像和音响等模态的运用参与主题意义的表达;在讨论时,应区别PPT既是工具,又是语篇,又是语类的不同概念;对PPT演示的研究可推动社会符号学的研究。
